10 Most Expensive PSP Games

The most expensive PSP game is a PlayStation RPG from 1999 that Atlus decided not to translate. Most of the team that would have done it was already busy with the sequel, so English-speaking players got the second half of the story first and had to wait until 2011 for the first. Atlus published four of the top ten, and Falcom's Ys series has three more.

Every price below is a real eBay sale made between January 2023 and November 2025, never an asking price. For each game we took the sales of loose discs (the UMD alone, no case) from its latest year of sales, or its latest two years when it sold too seldom for one, and used the middle price, so one wild auction can't push a game up the list. You only need the disc to play, so the loose price sets the order. Boxed prices only show up where enough complete copies sold to mean something.

10. Ys Seven (2009)

Loose discs of Ys Seven sold for a typical $48 across nine sales between May 2024 and February 2025, and boxed copies went for a typical $70 across 29 sales. It was Falcom's first original Ys made for the PSP, and it redesigned the series' combat around a party of three characters you can swap between at any time, where Adol used to fight alone.

That party system became the basis for the later Ys games, up to Ys VIII and Ys IX. Xseed Games brought it to North America on August 17, 2010, as part of a deal that also covered two more PSP Ys games, and both of them are on this list too.

9. Ys: The Oath in Felghana (2005)

Loose discs of Ys: The Oath in Felghana sold for a typical $60 across seven sales between January 2023 and September 2024, and boxed copies went for a typical $80 across 29 sales. It is a reworked version of Ys III: Wanderers from Ys, the 1989 game that turned the series into a side-scroller, rebuilt in 3D. Adol and his friend Dogi travel to Dogi's homeland, where monsters have appeared and the local volcano has woken up.

The PSP version added a double-boost system and an easier difficulty setting. Here's the easy way in: an enhanced remaster, Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, came to the Nintendo Switch in Japan in 2023 and to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2024, and Xseed released it worldwide on January 7, 2025.

8. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable (2010)

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable gameplay on PlayStation Portable

Loose discs of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable sold for a typical $69 across 30 sales between September 2024 and April 2025, and boxed copies went for a typical $104 across 30 sales. It is the PSP version of the 2006 PlayStation 2 game, and it added a new female protagonist with her own background music, along with the option to give your party members direct commands in battle.

It also hides a cameo. A Man Drinking Alone at Club Escapade tells you about a dream where people die if they don't wake up before they reach the bottom, and if you keep talking to him, he turns out to be Vincent from Catherine. You don't need the disc, though, since Persona 3 Portable came to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.

In the first, Doctor Eggman turns Sonic's friends into cards, while in the second, Eggman Nega steals the Chao to feed them to an inter-dimensional beast called the Ifrit, who needs to eat them to become invincible. Backbone Entertainment developed the sequel, and it got mixed or average reviews. The two-pack is the slowest seller on this list, with five loose sales in two years.

Its Dragon Walker mode takes you through the whole Dragon Ball Z story, from the Saiyan saga to the Majin Buu saga, and Battle 100 throws ever harder fights at you. If you want the series without the UMD, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero continued it in October 2024.

You could often get the standard version for $30 or less through mid 2019, before the prices rose. The cheaper route is on a computer: Xseed released Ys I & II Chronicles+ on Steam on February 14, 2013.

4. Hexyz Force (2010)

Loose discs of Hexyz Force sold for a typical $72 across 12 sales between December 2024 and November 2025, and boxed copies went for a typical $146 across 30 sales. Sting made it and Atlus published it on May 25, 2010. At the start you pick one of two heroes, a shrine maiden called Cecilia on the light side or a knight called Leevan on the dark side, and the story changes with your choice.

Every battle you win earns Force Points, and you spend them on everything, from upgrading sacred weapons to forging sacred armor, since items can't be bought in a shop. It may be Sting's most straightforward game. Hexyz Force was never ultra-cheap, because it had a smaller release than the Persona games, but it did dip below $50 between 2017 and 2019 before it spiked.

Loose discs of Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover sold for a typical $77 across 29 sales between May and October 2025, and boxed copies went for a typical $106 across 30 sales. It is the PSP port of Def Jam: Fight for NY, the 2004 fighting game where more than 35 hip-hop artists, Snoop Dogg and Method Man among them, brawl in the ring and on the streets.

The fights lean on the scenery. You slam opponents into walls, and the crowd shoves fighters back into the action if they get too close. It's the only game here where Carmen Electra might throw you through a gate.

2. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (2009)

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona gameplay on PlayStation Portable

Loose discs of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona sold for a typical $89 across 29 sales between September 2024 and May 2025, and boxed copies went for a typical $140 across 30 sales. It is the PSP version of Revelations: Persona, the 1996 PlayStation game that started the series, remade because Persona 3 and Persona 4 had brought in a lot of new fans who wanted to see where it began.

It also fixes the old American release. The 1996 localization changed character names and even ethnic origins, and it cut the whole Snow Queen route, a second story path with its own ending. The PSP version dropped those changes and put the Snow Queen quest back in.

1. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 - Innocent Sin (2011)

Loose discs of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin sold for a typical $123 across 23 sales between September 2024 and August 2025, and boxed copies went for a typical $161 across 30 sales. Tatsuya Suou and his friends at Seven Sisters High take on Joker, a villain who spreads rumors that rewrite reality across Sumaru City.

The 1999 original never left Japan. Atlus worried about content like its allusions to Nazis, but staff later said the main reason was a shortage of people, since most of the team was busy localizing the sequel, Eternal Punishment. So the West got the second half first, and this PSP version was the first time Innocent Sin came out in English. Eternal Punishment then got its own PSP version, but only in Japan, which is a very Persona way to say sorry.
