8. Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire (2003)

Pokemon Pinball has all the features you'd demand of a pinball game, including bonus tables, lots of bumpers and ways to score massive points. As with your standard videogame pinball game, the left button on the D-pad and the A-button control the flippers with the R/L triggers used to shake the table. The catch here is that everything is themed in Pokemon. Instead of a ball, you make use of a Pokeball. Instead of standard bumpers, you're hitting the Pokeball against other Pokemon, and the ultimate goal is of course to "catch 'em all". The game features 200 Pokemon, two main tables, and link cable support.

4. Yoshi Topsy-Turvy (2004)

Yoshi Topsy-Turvy gameplay on Game Boy AdvanceYoshi Topsy-Turvy box art

In Yoshi Topsy-Turvy, Yoshi Island has been turned into a picture book. Yoshi will not stand for this outlandish attempt at flattening his world, and he heads off on an adventure to return things back to their original state. To help in on his quest, a group of spirits who like to surprise people give Yoshi the ability to rotate the world to his liking. The big catch with Yoshi Topsy-Turvy is its use of a motion sensor, similar to the one set to be featured in the second Wario Ware GBA game. The game cartridge includes a built in motion sensor which detects how you move the GBA system. By turning the system, you make the world rotate. A meter on the upper right corner of the screen shows which way the system is being held at any time. Rotate the system to help Yoshi stay on the path and make it past perils and through the varied stages.
Go full tilt! By tilting your Game Boy Advance, you'll tilt the environment around Yoshi, knocking over enemies, swinging pendulums, and letting Yoshi run up walls and leap huge pits! Will this ending be happy? All of Yoshi's Island is trapped in a storybook, and only by meeting the challenges of each chapter will you succeed. Collect coins, defeat enemies, or race for the finish to satisfy each course's conditions

2. Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand (2003)

Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand gameplay on Game Boy AdvanceBoktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand box art

Hideo Kojima, the man that's most known for bringing the Metal Gear Solid series to life, has come up with an extremely ambitious idea for the Game Boy Advance: harness the energy of sunlight for a videogame. Enter Boktai, a vampire-hunting action and adventure game that not only encourages players to get outside and play in the fresh air...it almost requires it. Utilizing a special cartridge with a built-in a sun sensor, the amount of sunlight outside the game determines how much sunlight shows up in the actual adventure. And since the player's gun is actually fueled by sunlight, the more sunlight you can get the stronger and more capable you are in the game.
